What happens during the first appointment?

You will have a thorough consultation to ascertain if the treatment is suitable for you and which method is best for you.  I will ask you for your medical history to make sure there are no reasons why you should not receive treatment.  We will discuss your treatment plan and you will be given the opportunity to ask as many questions as you need to.  Depending on the treatment, you will be offered a taster session.

What about Hygiene?

Disposable probes are used to eliminate any risk of cross infection, I use a brand new sterile probe for each individual client.  I adhere to strict hygiene procedures to ensure a clean and safe environment and I am registered and licensed with the Local Authority.

What happens during a treatment?

I use a tiny probe (about the size of an eyelash) which generally cauterises the skin tissue, resulting in the effective removal or cosmetic reduction of the unwanted blemish or lesion. I will advise of the exact treatment technique and guide you step by step through the procedure and aftercare involved.

How long does it take?

Treatments are safe and effective and offer instantaneous results in many cases.  In the case of numerous blemishes or lesions your treatment plan will depend on a number of factors, including the type of blemish or lesion and your skin reaction.  Though several blemishes/lesions can be removed in a single appointment, an area of skin must not be over-treated.  During your first appointment I will discuss your treatment and your expectations with you, and I will advise you of the treatment plan I feel will deliver the best possible results for you.

Does the treatment hurt?

The discomfort level is generally low, a stinging or short pin-prick sensation is usually experienced for most procedures but with such fast pleasing results most people are very positive about the experience. Those who are concerned, or who know they have a very low pain threshold, sometimes choose to take a painkiller (such as for a headache) about half an hour before their appointment. Others may wish to use a topical anaesthetic cream prior to treatment.  Please seek advise from your pharmacist on which products may be suitable and available to you, and ensure you refer to the patient information leaflet accompanying the product.

What can I expect after the treatment?

I will apply an aftercare product to your skin to sooth the area and aid healing.  Following removal, the treated area will develop a scab (usually within the hour); this must be left to drop off naturally and not picked! The full healing time depends on the type and size of your blemish and your normal healing ability.  Most clients find that small blemishes are completely healed within a week, whereas larger ones may take up to three weeks.  Once the treated area has healed and the scab has fallen off there is normally a pink patch which will fade over time. This pink area is easily covered with concealer if required. Simple aftercare advise will be given to you at the end of your treatment.  It is important that you follow my advice carefully to reduce the risk of any complications and to ensure effective healing.

How long will it take to recover?

No recovery time as such is necessary; you can return to work and normal activities immediately after a treatment.  Depending on the particular skin condition being treated and the size of it, you can expect some post treatment discomfort and scabbing as the area heals. With many procedures the appearance may look worse before it looks better so careful timing of the treatment should be considered, particularly if you have any special events in your calendar and the treated area is in a noticeable place, such as on your face.

How much does the treatment cost?

This cost effective treatment is charged by the length of time you are treated, with a minimum of 15 minutes.  During your consultation I will provide a cost estimate for you. For up to date rates please contact me or click here…
